Papaya Pondering

If something has started to grow inside the paw-paw (or papaya) you are planning to eat, does it mean its expiry-date has passed?

What a great picture! And no, it certainly looks perfect for eating! Just plant your little hyper-active seed and next year you'll have super-special paw paws. You probably got this one from the paw paw "tree" in your own yard. Oh, I miss them. Nothing you buy in the supermarkets in the West compares. Same for bananas. I didn't know how delicious they really were until I got them picked straight off the banana plants. Now I'm hungry and all I have is a shriveled apple. Better go and find me some fresh strawberries in the store.

Hmm, I think so. Strange though that the seed started to germinate inside the fruit - had never seen that before. Cool pic!

Hi all, thanks for the energetic comments. Actually, I did eat it anyway (NY and Denise, you advice came too late) since it was a paw paw I'd grown myself. And those never expire, they only taste sweet, so sweet of pride.

But I guess it all means the sun shines also inside a paw paw.
